The myth of the hero, the story that has been told since the great Mesopotamians, spreading its elixir into the far corners of the world, until every inch of soil was under its spell, continues to this day to be most moving and inspiring story that we find played out on the page, stage, and screen.
The hero’s myth finds its source in the archetypes. These archetypes are energies that find themselves incarnated in characters, repeating forms, but above it, function.
They represent opposing pieces of our psyche – forces that each pull us closer to it, trying to sway us, to transform us into a singular quality.
At the heart of the hero’s myth is the journey.
The hero, whether through circumstance or calling, leaves the familiar and ventures out into the unknown. The journey is a journey of the heart, of the spirit.
The hero may travel through space, may cover great distances, and conquer great feats, but it is the internal voyage that makes hero’s myth so moving and brings the strongest reflection onto ourselves.
The hero’s journey emerges naturally through the writing and telling of the story.
Through experience, it starts become part of the our deeper self.
